The Ultimate Guide to PC Games 2018

2017 has been one of the best years for video games, mirroring the famous 1998 release schedule. With tons of triple-A releases on a seemingly weekly basis, there hasn’t been a shortage of games to play.

And PC gamers have a ton to look forward to on the horizon! So grab your gaming keyboard and mouse, we’re looking ahead to the top PC games 2018 has to offer.

Far Cry 5

Far Cry 5
You’re sitting atop a snow-capped mountain as dozens of armed guards move below you. They’re planning something, and you’re not sure what.

You grab your hang glider and pistol and decide for an all-out assault approach, taking out as many guards as possible as you fly over the base.

It’s a formula that fans of the Far Cry series have come to know and love over the past decade, and Far Cry 5 looks no different.

In terms of setting and story, however, Far Cry 5 is aiming to hit a little closer to home. Instead of a lush jungle or frozen tundra, the latest Far Cry game takes place in Montana.

Players control a sheriff tasked with apprehending a dangerous cult leader before he enacts his devious plan. Team up with the locals before it’s too late!

Look for FarCry 5 to hit PCs on February 27, 2018.

A Way Out

A Way Out
Our next game, A Way Out, is a bit of the inverse of Far Cry 5. Instead of massive set pieces, A Way Out’s intentions are smaller.

You and a buddy (online or locally) must team up to find a way to break out of prisonany way possible. Judging by the E3 trailer, A Way Out will give players plenty of opportunities to break out using whatever methods they please.

Escape or die trying: test your mettle when A Way Out releases sometime in early 2018.

State Of Decay 2

State of Decay 2
The original State of Decay took the Xbox 360 by storm back in 2013, and its sequel looks bigger and badder in every way.

The core gameplay mechanics seem the same, as players evade hordes of the undead while teaming up and building shelters. However, Microsoft seems to have increased the focus on social features.

Now you and up to three friends can survive the apocalypse together. Or, if you’re feeling really devious, betray them and steal their loot.

But be wary, not everyone you team up with is going to be a friend. See if you can survive when State of Decay 2 staggers onto your PC in spring 2018.

Destiny 2 Expansion

Destiny 2 Expansion
When it comes to PC games 2018, Destiny 2 is looking to stay top dog. Earlier this fall, PC gamers got to experience the massive open world of Destiny 2 for themselves. Unlike their console counterparts, PC players can enjoy an unlocked frame rate and customized controls.

And if the Destiny 2 is any sign of where the franchise is headed, Guardians should get ready for a fight. The first expansion releases in a few weeks, with an estimated spring release for expansion two.

You can prepare for the upcoming adventure by purchasing the base game in our store right now!

Sea Of Thieves

Sea Of Thieves
Sea Of Thieves is a cooperative game where players assume the role of pirates. Each member will have their own unique set of tasks to do and can aid his or her friends in the quest for treasure.

Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? It gets better. Gamers of the 1990s will no doubt remember Rare studios. They’re the studio responsible for such hits as Banjo-Kazooie, Goldeneye 007, and Conker’s Bad Fur Day.

Sea Of Thieves will be Rare’s first original game in over a decade. So set sail and prepare to swash buckle! Sea of Thieves is set to hit digital shelves in early 2018.

System Shock (Remake)

System Shock
Speaking of classics, the PC games 2018 has to offer seems to take quite a bit from yesteryear. Case and point, the remake of Warren Spector’s classic sci-fi/horror FPS System Shock.

If you’ve never played the original System Shock, you’re in for a treat. While you may have played its spiritual successor, BioShock, System Shock is different.

You’ll still have the freedom to dismember or assist enemies. But System Shock places an increased importance on stealth. Get ready to take on a new and improved Shodan sometime in 2018.

While there isn’t a concrete date, be sure to follow the Kickstarter page for updates and demos.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2

Warhammer Vermintide 2
On one hand, it doesn’t seem like Valve has any intention of releasing a third Left 4 Dead game anytime soon. But on the other, Fatshark is more than happy to usurp its horde-killing throne.

And audiences ate up every bloody drop.

For the uninitiated, Vermintide plays almost identically to the L4D games. The only exception, of course, being the Warhammer licensed fantasy theme.

So if you prefer your games quick and bloody, look out for Vermintide 2, currently slated for a 2018 release.

Crackdown 3

Crackdown 3
After a long, hard day at work, what sounds nicer than leveling an entire city with a rocket launcher? If this sounds like your answer to rest and relaxation, keep an eye out for Crackdown 3.

While the series made its initial impressions among Xbox 360 gamers (you may remember it as the game with the Halo 3 beta key), Crackdown makes its move to PC with this brand new game.

Expect tons of chaos, power-ups, and destruction. Crackdown 3 is currently scheduled to come out sometime in spring 2018.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds
Alright, so this is technically cheating, as PUBG is THE biggest game of 2017. With more than one million concurrent players, it’s currently taking the net by storm and breaking DOTA 2’s long-held record.

However, with the 1.0 release in a few weeks, don’t expect PUBG to go anywhere anytime soon. With new maps and modes on the horizon, PC games 2018 will once again be dominated by the battle royale giant.
